Equilibrium, 2002 (dir. Kurt Wimmer)

Director Kurt Wimmer wanted Gun Kata to be “fluid” but the fight choreographer Jim Vickers wanted a “hard” style.  Vickers won and it is his version you see in this scene.  Later, Wimmer would use his fluid style in “Ultraviolet” which he also directed.  I think each respective style fits the film in which they were used; “Equilibrium” being more masculine and “Ultraviolet” being more feminine.
